Imagine comparing the experience of playing an actual Wordle game with its abstraction in Farcaster Frame; you'll notice that playing Wordle in the Farcaster Frame is not as enjoyable due to the limited interface and significant delays in each action.
For complex games like MOBAs, playing on Farcaster Frame is completely unplayable because these games require real-time interaction with a user interface that allows interaction across the entire screen, not just with buttons within the frame. Moreover, such games require animations that cannot be efficiently executed within the Farcaster Frame, as it is limited to static images that update only with each move.
Performance and Latency Issue
Depending on the complexity of the game and the capabilities of the Farcaster Frame, users might experience performance lags or reduced responsiveness. The integration of interactive content directly within a social feed, which isn't primarily designed for gaming, might not always offer the same fluid experience as dedicated gaming platforms.
People Won't play a long game
People are unlikely to engage with lengthy games unless there's a compelling reason—either the game is exceptionally good or offers monetary rewards.
However, playing games solely for financial gain can lead to an unsustainable economy. A more sustainable approach involves designing shorter games that foster social interactions. Yet, this strategy can be undermined by cumbersome login systems, which can ruin the user experience and deter gameplay.
Solution
Hokum plans to develop a game-centric Farcaster client that allows interactive games to be played directly on Farcaster social media. Unlike traditional frames that use static images and a fixed input/button template, this system will enable an embedded browser to launch within the Farcaster client, with the Hokum SDK assisting developers in integrating with Farcaster and managing on-chain transactions.
This setup allows users to play any on-chain browser game directly from Farcaster social media without needing to log in again, enhancing the user experience and making it ideal for social games. Since users aren't required to log in, they can easily play any indie game shared by others for socialization rather than monetization purposes.
Moreover, as the games share the same code as browser games, developers can migrate their games to our Farcaster client with minimal changes, potentially leading to widespread adoption.
Games can leverage the functionalities provided by the Hokum SDK, which includes session key management, edge node integration, and randomization processes. Additionally, precompiles are available for on-chain interactions through a Farcaster account. This is achieved without the need for any central server, allowing games to operate indefinitely with zero maintenance costs for developers.
